The Boston Glob has recently named Dharmesh Shah as the Innovator of The Year in Hi-Tech business. Dharmesh Shah is a blogger at OnStartups.com as well as the founder of HubSpot Inc., an online marketing platform for small and midsize businesses . In 2010 through his business at Hubspot, Dharmesh Shah raised Venture Capital investment of $32 million from Sequoia and Salesforce. This year Google Ventures has teamed up in the investment Series D, raising its total venture investment to $65 million.

In one statement, Rich Miner, a partner at Google Ventures and a co-founder of Android Inc. agreed with HubSpot’s belief that search engines, social media and mobile devices have fundamentally changed how businesses should market themselves. “We’re thrilled to support their efforts to help thousands of small and medium businesses reach potential customers.”

Who ever thought from MIT dorm room dream, the company has now become a giant and bring his founder’s name to top of the innovators list.

HubSpot

Founded in 2006, HubSpot Inc. through their software platform focuses to help small and midsize company to get their businesses found online by more qualified prospects and convert more of them into leads and paying customers. The software is licensed as a service and combines SEO, blogging, website management, lead management, marketing analytics, e-mail marketing, landing pages and social media monitoring.
